5 Suburban Dream Homes That are Drawing Toronto Locals out of the City

When the pandemic hit and working from home went from being an occasional treat to an everyday occurrence, tons of people up and left Toronto — and headed for the suburbs in search of more space. The result? Booming real estate markets in the outskirts of the city.

Now, more than two years later, it’s become clear that work from home culture isn’t going anywhere. And that means those hot markets are just getting hotter as even more people set their sights on the suburbs.

Home prices in the 905 have seen a massive spike

Last month, homes in the GTA’s 905 area code sold for a whopping $1,402,948 on average. That’s a price increase of 31% since February 2021 (there was a 22% increase in Toronto proper in the same period, by comparison).
