If there’s one social interaction that I miss the most from before the pandemic, it would have to be brunch. There is something about sitting with a mimosa in your hand, eggs benny on your plate, and your besties around you that brings joy to your week like nothing else. For me, brunch was my time to eat my favourite foods, and connect with all my friends. Enter: the brunch box.
Throughout the never-ending series of lockdowns in Ontario, we’ve had to come up with creative ways to incorporate our favourite activities, like brunch, with the new reality of our lives. Although we can’t meet on Sundays at the usual spot, we can still enjoy a delicious and safe weekend brunch together.
REYNA’S Brunch Box
Restaurants like REYNA on King have made it easier than ever to have weekend brunch from the comfort of our homes. How you ask? It’s simple: Brunch Boxes and Mimosa Kits. Every Saturday and Sunday, REYNA on King is serving a selection of 4 Brunch Boxes available for takeout and delivery.
My personal favourite, Eggs Benny! Includes smoked salmon and tahini hollandaise Eggs Benedict and a fresh baked croissant. Served with choice of bacon or sausage, poached eggs, fresh garden salad, and house-made Beignets.
The classic breakfast box. Features a Molasses Bacon BLT, fresh garden salad, a choice of scrambled or over easy eggs, homemade chips, and house-made Beignets.
The Brunch Box for vegetarians! This box includes mini black olive, caramelized onion and Feta quiche, with a side of chickpea hash, a garden salad, a fresh baked croissant and house-made Beignets.
This delicious Croissant Brunch Box includes a chicken salad croissant served with your choice of bacon or sausage. It also includes a fresh garden salad, a scrambled or over easy egg, and house-made Beignets.
Make Your Own Mimosas
Brunch, isn’t brunch without a mimosa. And REYNA on King has got you covered. Choose from a variety of juices including orange, mango, and lychee cactus pear. Personally, I’d go for the lychee cactus pear with a berry garnish.
REYNA on King is open for brunch Saturday and Sunday, 11am-3pm, for pickup and on UberEats and Skip the Dishes. You can even pre-order your brunch box and schedule your pickup time on the weekend.
Don’t forget the most important ingredient to lunch… your friends. Planning a virtual brunch date is a great way to stay connected, while staying safe. Now that’s reason enough for a toast. Happy Brunching!
