Media Platform BLACK FOODIE Teams Up With Guinness Canada For Epic Cook-Off

>To celebrate the luck of the Irish and St. Patties day this year, BLACK FOODIE teamed up with Guinness Canada for the platform’s latest Black Foodie Battle episode. The only of its kind in North America, BLACK FOODIE is a verified creative food platform dedicated to showcasing Black food culture and sharing authentic, engaging stories from the underrepresented community.

First launched in April 2020, The Battle features a contestant-submitted recipe and cooking video from Canadian chefs of varying abilities. The videos are then turned into a fun and exciting social media-voted cooking competition! The most recent episode featured the brand’s new partnership with Guinness Canada. The four Toronto-based chefs were asked to prepare a dish using the legendary Guinness Draught stout as the main ingredient.

Meet The BLACK FOODIE Chefs

The culinary creative, Monique Creary, is a school teacher by day and a pro cooking instructor by night. In this Battle episode, Monique creates a Jamaican Easter Bun with a few modern touches. The Guinness-soaked raisins and honey-Guinness glaze take these hot cross buns to the next level!

Food network star and Caribbean cuisine master, Adrian Forte, brings an innovative Guinness Glazed Ribs recipe to the BLACK FOODIE competition table. The grill professional creates a Guinness BBQ sauce to pair with the tender, Guinness and beef stock braised ribs.

Highly acclaimed chef, restaurateur and author, Suzanne Barr, shows off her southern comfort cooking styles while incorporating her Caribbean roots and Toronto home base. Suzanne whips up Guinness-marinated chicken thighs and a carrot slaw stuffed between two blue corn arepas.

Noel Cunningham, the Jamaican chef, culinary consultant and food writer brings his island flair to the kitchen for this BLACK FOODIE episode. Noel prepares Guinness braised short ribs with lima beans and pan-fried Jamaican spinners.
