It’s not every day you run into Shawn Mendes and Director X in The 6ix but it’s certainly not impossible. In fact, those dining at this East side restaurant for breakfast this morning were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of these two stars. There’s nothing more Torontonians love than success stories from our city so Mendes and Director X in the same place is sort of a dream come true.

Director X & Shawn Mendes Spotted

This morning, Wednesday May 11th, the universe brought Director X and Shawn Mendes together for breakfast. Coincidentally the two both wandered in to one of the city’s most popular spots in Corktown for an early morning bite. It looks like Mendes may have even been grabbing a post-workout meal.

At around 11am Director X posted the video above on his Instagram story.

Mendes: “Why are you even here?”

Director X: “I live close. I came for breakfast and look who I find”

Mendes: “I’ve never even seen you here, ever”

Director X: “It’s just the universe baby, universe…my guy, love you man, good seeing you”

Mendes: “Love your bro”

Wow. Imagine walking into the Impact Kitchen at 573 King St E to grab a post-workout smoothie and you see Shawn Mendes and Director X bonding over their shared love for the Toronto food scene and their coincidental visit to Impact together? I don’t know if I would’ve said hello, acted casual (like oh yeah of course my friend Shawn and Director X are here, this is an average Wednesday morning) or if I would’ve ran the other way….I guess we’ll never know.
