>With gyms and studios closed, we have all had to find innovative ways to get in our daily workouts and stay healthy this past year. While at-home workouts can usually do the trick, there are only so many indoor activities you can do. Summer will soon be here and we can get back to enjoying the outdoors as the weather begins to warm up. Even better yet we will be able to work out with friends! To celebrate the upcoming summer season we have put together a list of our favourite parks to do an outdoor workout in. Roll up your yoga mat and get ready to breathe in the fresh air and soak up some Vitamin D at these stunning locations around the city.

Toronto’s largest public park is equipped with prime workout spots, from hiking and biking trails to the lakefront and a large grassy area. High Park is full of biodiversity and offers amazing wildlife views to take in while you complete your practice. Head to the park in late April for your chance to see the spectacular cherry blossom trees in bloom!

Take a ferry across the water to Toronto Island for an adventurous day of workout fun! Here you can find endless grassy spots and beachy areas for yoga, HIIT, pilates or whatever your jam may be! Better yet, rent a paddle board or kayak and take your workout to the water.

Enjoy a piece of nature in the middle of the city at Trinity Bellwoods Park. Here you will find many others taking advantage of the greenery and is a fun place to people-watch while you workout! Feel free to bring your dumbbells and other workout gear or maybe even join an outdoor workout class; there are plenty offered at Trinity Bellwoods.

Find this beautiful workout spot in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood. The 3km stretch of sandy beach is perfect for jogging, swimming and relaxing walks. The beach does tend to fill up on the weekends in the warmer months so try heading out on a weekday for a more private workout.
